Bio Peter Maida

Peter Maida served as full-time faculty at the University of Maryland for 25 years and as adjunct faculty at George Mason University and American University. He edited Mediation Quarterly for seven years for the Academy of Family Mediators. He has been a mediator since 1985 across a wide range of disputes including divorce, professional disputes, consumer/business, civil rights, commercial, workplace, healthcare, probate, and domestic relations.

He was asked by the Department of Justice to create an organization to train mediators for ADA discrimination complaints. He served as past Executive Director of Key Bridge Foundation and trained EEOC attorneys and federal agencies including the Department of Energy, USDA, and the Administrative Office of the US Courts.

Maida managed mediator rosters for the DOJ (580 mediators), DOE (10), NRC (5), and NASA (6). He developed the psychometric test “Trans-acting In the Workplace” and is a board member of PMBS.
